CD5, also known as lymphocyte antigen T1/Leu-1, is a transmembrane glycoprotein involved in the regulation of T cell proliferation. CD5 is a pan-T cell marker that is also found on a subset of B cells, but not on the majority of B cells in peripheral blood. In addition, T cell malignancies, B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)/small cell lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), and mantle cell lymphoma are CD5-positive.
