Serim® GUARDIAN™ BICARB pH II™ Test Strips are designed to test the pH of bicarbonate concentrate and/or final dialysate solutions (bicarbonate, acid and water. Determining the pH of these mixtures is difficult because carbon dioxide gas is expelled once the solution is removed from the dialyzer. With traditional pH indicator papers, this carbon dioxide diffusion causes a marked increase in the measured pH over the time required for color matching. Serim® GUARDIAN™ BICARB pH II™ Test Strips have been evaluated with multiple types of bicarb concentrates (e.g. acetic acid, citric acid and lactic acid) which eliminates the need to purchase a specific test for each type of concentrate. Accurate evaluation of each type of solution requires using the appropriate color block set according to the temperature of the sample.

Test Range：

The pH of the dialysate solution (final or bicarbonate concentrate) is obtained by comparing the color developed on the indicator pad to the appropriate set of color blocks on the bottle label.The final dialysate color blocks represent pH values of 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0 and 8.5.The concentrated bicarbonate color blocks represent pH values of 8.0 or 8.5.
