This is one of our newest and favorite miniature USB 3.0 CMOS C-mount Color Cameras. For such a small and inexpensive camera, it does a great job capturing low-light fluorescence images or high-speed video. It has a 1/2.8 " Sony STARVIS CMOS sensor with high sensitivity for low-light applications and high frame rate for video when adequate light is present. The STARVIS sensor performs on-chip analog/digital signal conversion and multi-step noise reduction in parallel on each column of pixels. Progressive scan, 2.9µm pixels (2.1 megapixels), up to 143 frames/s (>300 fps at 640 x 480) supporting RGB24, YUV4:2:2 and other pixel formats. Software included for image capture on PC with shutter speeds ranging from 1/50,000 to 30 secs with 0-70dB of gain (Windows and Linux). It attaches to microscopes via a 0.35x C-mount, sold separately. This camera powers itself directly from the computer's USB port and operates from -5°C to 45°C!
