Streptavidin is a biotin-binding protein with high affinity, capable of binding 4 moles of biotin per mole of protein. The streptavidin-biotin system is widely used in traditional biological techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, immunoelectron microscopy, flow cytometry, Western blotting, and ELISA assays, as well as in cutting-edge research fields like biochips and nanobiology. The streptavidin produced by Nebulabio is recombinant core streptavidin, which lacks the N-terminal and C-terminal peptide fragments present in natural streptavidin, effectively avoiding steric hindrance from these terminal peptides in biotin binding.
