Tyrphostin 25 has been used for studying its effect on transcriptional repression induced by the adenoviral 

oncoprotein, E1a, in HeLa cells. Tyrphostin 25 has also been used to study the migration inhibition in IEC-6 cells.

Tyrphostin 25 is a small molecule inhibitor of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor kinase function. This molecule 

associates with the substrate subsite of the protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) domain.
